چکیده
Abstract Purpose Lateral ankle sprains are one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal injuries, with highest recurrence rates. One in five people develops chronic instability (CAI) after a lateral sprain. CAI is mainly described as subjective phenomenon, but associated recurrent symptoms, reduced dynamic stability, and physical activity quality life. Understanding relationship between perception stability effect on performance for could inform rehabilitative strategies clinical practice. This study aimed to investigate objective this population. Methods sub-analysis data from four separate studies Australia United Kingdom. Participants were screened categorised CAI, coper, or healthy participant. Each participant completed Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) Cumberland tool (CAIT). Distances reached anterior, posterior-medial, posterior-lateral directions, average, SEBT analysed. Results Data 95 participants 45 copers, 101 was There significant moderate correlation CAIT score reach distance all directions group ( p < 0.001). For there small direction 0.05). Conclusion highlights discrepancies reinforces importance using both types measures continual assessment practice optimise selecting strategies.
